![]() We thought it might be due to some of our older switches, but even after moving one lab up to a newer one, there was no change. Some lab teachers have found that restarting all of the machines will sometimes bring things back to normal temporarily. ![]() The firewall is disabled on the local machines through Group Policy, and handled by an appliance. This is by both DNS name and IP, so it does not appear to be a DNS problem. ![]() If there have been other issues with people having trouble accessing their files, they have been temporary enough that no one has reported anything.Īnd the next, it'll all be different on who can ping what. So far, this has partly impacted us in IT as we try to perform remote work on machines, but it's mostly impacting the teachers in the computer labs across the district who are unable to monitor/control all machines at once through the use of LanSchool (which is a huge help for testing proctors who have the have the machines individually prepped for each class of students in the couple of minutes between said classes). (Note: I am not the network guy, and have a limited understanding of networking, so please bear with me and any improper terminology)įor the past 6 months or so now, we've been experiencing an issue where computers will all be fine one day, then the next day there will be strange communications issues with some machines, the next day there will still be issues, except they will be with different machines, and then another day everything will be fine again.
